Mashrafe-Razzak's early 'guide' Pavel is no more

A story from the beginning of this century. Rakib Haider Pavel caught the eye of a fast bowler in age-based cricket. That bowler can also create a storm with the bat. From age-level cricket, Pavel brought the all-rounder to Azad Sporting in their first division cricket. From there, the fast bowler entered the national team in one jump. Who has not yet experienced the Dhaka Premier League!

The player was named Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who later pioneered the fast bowlers of the country, becoming one of the most successful captains. Not only Mashrafe, cricketers like Abdur Razzak, Syed Russell also found the door of the Bangladesh national team by taking the hand of sports organizer Pavel. Along with Mashrafe's initial story is Pavel, there is also the name of current BCB curator Zahid Reza Babu.

Mashrafe-Razzak's early 'path guide' Pavel died today (58) (Inna…Rajiun). Mashrafe, who was saddened by his departure, wrote on Facebook, 'You were the whole beginning of my cricket career. He looked after him like a big brother. Today you are not! That Azad Sporting Club of the 1999-2000 season and coming to the tent after evening to bully, coming to practice and catching mistakes from a bird's eye, coming to the tent early in the morning on the day of the match and waking everyone up… how many more stories are related to you.'

Thanking Pavel, Mashrafe also wrote, 'Bangladesh cricket is here today because of dedicated sports organizers like you. Many players including Aftab, Raj (Razzak), (Syed) Russell, myself have represented the national team by your hand. Stay well brother.'

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also mourned the death of former councilor and member secretary of CCDM, experienced cricket organizer Rakib Haider Pavel.
