After the defeat against Southern Superstars in Qualifier 1, the team made a tremendous comeback and secured the ticket to the final by defeating Hyderabad in a thrilling match that lasted till the last ball. Odisha, who came to bat after losing the toss, did not have a good start but coming at number three, Kevin O'Brien's inning of 50 runs on 39 balls with 5 fours and 1 six changed the match. In the end, captain Irfan Pathan played an inning of 49 runs with the help of 5 fours and 1 six on 35 balls, taking the score to 156 runs.
