Kane Williamson back in test squad: Former captain Kane Williamson has returned to the New Zealand Test team. The team was announced for the first match of the series against West Indies starting from 2nd December. Blair Tickner returned after a long time.
New Delhi. Kane Williamson has been included in New Zealand’s 14-man squad for the series against West Indies starting on December 2. He did not participate in the Test series against Zimbabwe in August. India’s Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired without scoring ten thousand in Tests. Williamson is just 800 runs away from the magical figure of 10,000 runs. The Kiwi team has also included fast bowlers Jacob Duffy, Jack Foulkes and Blair Tickner. Along with him there are also fast bowlers like Matt Henry and Nathan Smith.
Blair Tickner has returned to the Test team for the first time since 2023. He recently performed brilliantly in New Zealand’s ODI series against England. Duffy and Faulks made important contributions on the Zimbabwe tour. Daryl Mitchell has recovered from the groin injury suffered during the ODI series against West Indies. Kyle Jamieson and Glenn Phillips have not been included in the Test team. Both are working on their match fitness under New Zealand’s workload management. Matt Fisher (shin), Will O’Rourke (back) and Ben Sears (hamstring) have also been ruled out of selection due to injury.
