Jadeja-Washington's spin spell overshadows New Zealand's strike on the final afternoon


Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar's excellent bowling did not allow New Zealand to go far. They started well with the pairing of Shubman Gill and Yasswi Jaiswal. But the hosts lost three wickets in two overs in the last afternoon.

India were then on course to end the day with Jaiswal and Gill's pair. They took a big blow to break the pair of 53 runs. The host team lost 3 wickets in 8 balls. Ejaz Patel took two wickets in Khruche. Jaiswal was dismissed for 30 runs. Gill is unbeaten on 31 runs, Rishav Pant was playing on 1 run.
