New Delhi. Record-breaking bidding took place in IPL auction 2025 on Sunday. When Rishabh Pant made the record of being the most expensive player, the bid on Venkatesh Iyer surprised everyone. Lucknow Super Giants bid Rs 27 crore for Rishabh Pant, which is the highest in IPL history. A total of 72 players were bid on the first day of the auction. A total bid of Rs 467.95 crore was placed on these players. Now the 10 franchises of IPL have a total of 132 slots vacant. There will be an auction for these again on Monday.
On the first day of IPL Auction 2025, names of more than 84 players came forward for bidding. But out of these, bids were placed only on 72 players. Of these 72 players, 24 are foreigners. RTM cards were used for four players. On the first day, 12 players remained unsold, that is, no one bid on them. Bidding can be done on all these unsold players on the second day of IPL 2025 auction i.e. on Monday.
