IPL 2025 Auction: Akash-Siraj, Maxwell-Duplessis or Jacques… For which players will RCB use RTM card?

New Delhi. The weekend is going to prove to be very important for Indian cricket. On one hand, the Indian cricket team is going to play the first test against Australia from Friday. When the Indian team will be battling the Kangaroos in Perth, at almost the same time cricketers will be bidding for IPL 2025 in Saudi Arabia. 574 players will be at stake in this IPL auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore, the team of Team India's biggest batsman Virat Kohli, has retained 3 players. With this he has 3 right to match cards left.

Royal Challengers Bangalore i.e. RCB has retained three players including its biggest star Virat Kohli for IPL 2025. These include Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal. A total of Rs 37 crore has been spent to retain these three. Out of these, Rs 21 crore has gone to Virat Kohli's account. According to the rules of IPL 2025 auction, a franchise can retain a maximum of 6 players. If a team retains fewer players than this, it can compensate for it with the Right to Match card. Like RCB has retained 3 players. Therefore he will get 3 RTM cards. During the auction, RCB will be able to use RTM cards on three players who were with them in the last season. Among these, one player must be uncapped.

The players who were released by RCB this time during IPL 2024 include Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, Will Jacques, Cameron Green. Royal Challengers Bangalore can include only two of these players in their team through RTM. It will not be easy for him to choose just two of these players. On one side there is Mohammad Siraj and Akash Deep, who are Indians and also fast bowlers. Bowling has been RCB's weakness, so they would not want to let Akash Deep and Siraj away from them. On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis and Will Jacques, all three are match winners and when it is their day, they single-handedly win the match.

Among uncapped players, the possibility of RTM card being used is highest for Mahipal Lomror. Apart from Mahipal Lomror, Vijay Kumar Vishak and Anuj Rawat are also contenders for this. Royal Challengers Bangalore has a purse of Rs 83 crore left for the auction. This is the highest after Punjab Kings (110.50 crores).
