New Delhi. The first day of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 proved to be excellent for Gujarat-Himachal Pradesh while the Bihar team put its fans to shame. On Friday, the first day of the tournament, 32 teams competed. Among these, Bihar team ended up scoring the lowest score. Saurashtra's Cheteshwar Pujara, who is trying to make a comeback for Team India, also did not have a good start. He was out against Tamil Nadu after scoring only 16 runs.
Haryana bowled out Bihar for 78 runs on the first day of Ranji Trophy. Only 3 batsmen from Bihar could touch the double figures. At one time the Bihar team had lost 8 wickets for 34 runs. Gujarat's Manan Hingrajiya's innings was also the center of great attraction on the first day of Ranji Trophy. Manan played an unbeaten inning of 174 runs against Hyderabad. Thanks to his innings, Gujarat scored 334 runs for 8 wickets by the end of the day's play. This was the biggest score of any team on the first day of the current season.
Defending champions Mumbai started the match well, but as the game progressed, Baroda made a comeback. Baroda, which lost 4 wickets for 71 runs, scored 241 runs for 6 wickets at the time of stumps. Mitesh Patel played an inning of 86 runs.
