Exclusive: When his own dream was broken, his son became an IPL star in 13 years, know the story of the scooter father

Samastipur. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a resident of Tajpur in the district, has achieved this position at the age of just 13 due to his hard work and struggle, which even sports lovers are surprised to see. Vaibhav not only brought glory to Samastipur but also gave a distinct identity to Bihar in cricket. In IPL Auction 2025, Rajasthan Royals team has spent Rs 1.1 crore on Vaibhav. It is expected that in IPL 2025, Vaibhav will shine under the leadership of great player Rahul Dravid.

His father Sanjeev Suryavanshi had to struggle hard to bring Vaibhav to this stage. When the Local 18 team reached Vaibhav's house, there was a queue of people congratulating his father Sanjeev Suryavanshi.

If the father did not become a national player, the son became one.
Sanjeev Suryavanshi himself has been a good cricketer. He himself tried hard to make a place at the national level in cricket but did not get success. After this, he devoted all his hard work and resources to make his son Vaibhav successful in sports. To enable his son to become a national player, he himself became a coach and trained him in every aspect of the game.

Vaibhav started cricket with tennis ball at the age of 5. After this he proved his talent in Ranji Trophy. Then secured a place in the Indian Under-19 team. Now Rajasthan Royals have included him in IPL.

Sanjeev Suryavanshi told Local 18, “Many difficulties had to be faced for this success, which also included financial crisis. When Vaibhav was 5 years old, he himself used to make him practice cricket at his doorstep. At the age of 7, Vaibhav was enrolled in Samastipur Sports Academy. Here coach Brijesh Jha made him practice hard.”

After this, Sanjeev Suryavanshi used to take Vaibhav on his scooter to Patna three days a week, where he used to take training in an academy. The result of this struggle and dedication is that today Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become a national player.

Rakesh Tiwari gave Vaibhav a chance to play state at a young age
Sanjeev Suryavanshi told that Rakesh Tiwari, President of BCA (Bihar Cricket Association), recognizing the talent of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, gave him an opportunity to play for the state at an early age. He said that Vaibhav lived up to his trust and performed brilliantly and scored good runs. After this, Vaibhav also left his mark on big platforms like Challenger Game and India Khela.

Sanjeev Suryavanshi tells that Vaibhav is currently a student of class 8th and currently he is in Dubai with the Under-19 team to play the Asia Cup. This is another important achievement for his son, which will help him take his cricket career to greater heights.
