The Border-Gavaskar Trophy begins with the Perth Test from tomorrow. Before that, Pat Cummins increased the heat of the series. The Australian captain made it clear that he does not want any Indian in his team.
However, the teammates did not agree with Cummins, they gave a chance to the Indian cricketers of their choice. Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Travis Head, Scott Boland were discussed in an event on Fox Cricket recently.
In that event, they were asked to know which Indian cricketer they want to place in the Australian team. All but Cummins have picked one Indian cricketer. Only Cummins said, 'Don't want to make room for anyone.'
Nathan Lyon has picked Virat Kohli in the middle order along with Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. The offspinner said, 'We have (Steve) Smith, Marnus (Labuschen) in our team. Joining Virat (Kohli) will make for a very strong batting line-up.'
Mitchell Marsh keeps Rishabh Pant for number five. The all-rounder said, 'I will choose Rishabh Pant. He will bat at number five. A very soft hearted, young cricketer. He was also my captain in Delhi. We all know what Rishabh can do.'
Travis Head picked the attacking Rohit Sharma in the opener. The left-handed opener said, 'Rohit is batting aggressively now isn't he. I want his aggressive mentality. Maybe you thought I would take Virat's name. But I like to think otherwise. So I will take Rohit in the open.'
Jasprit Bumrah was bowled by pacer Scott Boland. This pacer said, 'I will choose Jasprit Bumrah. He can play in all three versions. He is one of the best bowlers in the world.'
