Bangladesh Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman's family is in trouble after his death. Bangladesh's star cricketer Tamim Iqbal stood by Zia's family at this critical moment.
Tamim handed over a check of Rs 500,000 to Grandmaster Zia's wife Labanya and son Tahsin at Mirpur Indoor today. Tamim has also assured to stand by the legendary chess player Zia in any need. Zia's family was overwhelmed by Tamim's help and compassion. Zia's wife Labanya told the media, 'Tamim told me to contact him in case of any problem. And told Tahsin to focus on studies and sports. He says, I gave you five lakh rupees, but it is nothing for your father.'
Like Zia, his son Tahsin is also developing as a chess player. Although his future is uncertain after the loss of his father, like Tamim, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed interest in staying on. The chess legend's wife also said that if Tahsin needs BCB's help to play chess, the board's chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury has assured to apply to president Farooq Ahmed.
