Bangladesh kept their World Cup hopes alive by stopping Malaysia


Bangladesh showed a great surprise in the third match of Junior Asia Cup Hockey. The match between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw in Muscat, Oman. Despite sharing the points, Bangladesh's chances of playing in the Youth World Cup remained alive.

Bangladesh have never won against Malaysia in their last three meetings in Junior (U-21) Asia Cup Hockey. Lost 8-0 in 2015. Then in 2023, Bangladesh lost 1-5 goals. In 2008, the loss was 1-0. That Malaysia was blocked today by youth. Bangladesh will get a ticket to the World Cup if it can finish at least seventh in this ten-team tournament.
