Bangladesh got that Australia again


Bangladesh defeated Australia in the first edition of Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup in 2023. In the second U-19 T20 World Cup to be held after two years, both teams have been drawn in the same group. There is another Asian team in the Bangladesh group.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced today the group for the 2025 Women's U-19 T20 World Cup. 16 teams will play this time. The teams are divided into four groups. Bangladesh, Australia are in 'D' group. The remaining two teams in this group are Nepal and Scotland.

Group 'A' is quite strong in the grouping done by ICC. Current champion India is with Sri Lanka, West Indies. Host Malaysia is in this group. Group 'B' is also strong. Ireland and USA are in the group of Pakistan, England. Group 'C' has surprises. This is the first time that Samoa and Nigeria, who are going to play the Women's Twenty20 World Cup, are in this group. New Zealand and South Africa are in 'C' group with two newcomers.

The format of the first edition will be followed in the 2025 Women's Under T20 World Cup. The second season of Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup begins on January 18. The best 6 teams from 16 teams will be Super Six. Then there will be two semi-finals. The tournament will end in Malaysia with the final on February 2.

India and England faced each other in the Women's U-19 T20 World Cup final on 29 January 2023 at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. After losing the toss and batting first, England were bundled out for 68 runs in 14 overs. India scored 69 for 3 with 6 overs in hand. Titus Sadhu became the finalist with a 7-wicket win. He took 2 wickets for 6 runs in 4 overs.
