Bangladesh DPL is tougher than IPL, says Indian cricketer

There is a jingle of money. Indian Premier League (IPL) has a different atmosphere as many star cricketers from home and abroad play. But the talk about India's Parvez Rasool's IPL is quite surprising. He is keeping Dhaka Premier League (DPL) ahead of this popular franchise tournament.

Bangladesh's DPL is basically List 'A' cricket. On the other hand IPL is in T20 edition. Even a separate slot is allotted for IPL. Then the pressure of international cricket is less. India's Parvez has experience of playing in both IPL and DPL tournaments. In an event on Instagram, this Indian cricketer said, 'I have played in Dhaka League of Bangladesh for five years. Dhaka league is tougher than IPL. I also played in IPL and Dhaka League.

As he has experience playing in both tournaments, he has been able to compare IPL with ODI based DPL easily. Explaining why DPL is difficult, the Indian cricketer said, 'In IPL contracts are made for the season. Contracts are made regardless of the opportunity to play. Depends on the team in the XI. Even if one or two bad matches get dropped, one can stay with the team. But the pressure is very high in the Dhaka Premier League. Because here the agreement is made for two matches. If you do well, you will survive. If not, you have to catch a return ticket.'

From 2014 to 2017, Parvez was able to play only 2 matches in the Indian jersey. Played one ODI and international T20 each. There was no opportunity to play such a match in IPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pune Warriors – these three teams have played 11 matches in franchise based tournament in India. Took 4 wickets at 8.21 economy. Parvez started playing in DPL after not getting a team in IPL. So far this Indian cricketer has played 4 seasons for Gazi Group Cricketers, Legends of Rupganj, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.

Apart from Parvez, many foreign stars have played in DPL. Stars like Arun Lal, Wasim Zafar, Ajay Jadeja, Arvind de Silva, Sanath Jayasuriya, Wasim Akram also played at one time.
