New Delhi. Something that was not expected was seen in the mega auction of Indian Premier League 2025. No team showed interest in buying Arjun, son of great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar. When his name came in the first round, he went unsold. Even in the second round, no team bid for him. Ultimately, Mumbai Indians included this fast bowler in their team by paying the base price.
Father Sachin Tendulkar, whom everyone wanted to have in his team, did not bid for his son Arjun in the mega auction. It is surprising to know this because just a few days before the auction, he had taken 5 wickets for 25 runs while playing in Ranji Trophy. While playing for Goa, he single-handedly wiped out half the team against Arunachal Pradesh. Arjun Tendulkar was disappointed in the first and second rounds of the auction held for IPL 2025 when no team put forward his bid.
Arjun will again be seen playing from Mumbai
Arjun Tendulkar made his debut in the Indian Premier League playing for Mumbai Indians. He also got a chance to play in the IPL of 2023 and also took wickets. However, after this he could not get a place in the playing eleven. Playing under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Arjun took the first IPL wicket by dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Last season, Hardik Pandya captained the side and Arjun had to sit on the bench.
Arjun's base price was 30 lakhs
In the initial season, the base price of Arjun Tendulkar in the auction was Rs 20 lakh. Before this time's auction, BCCI had increased the base price of uncapped players from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. Arjun remained unsold in the first round while in the second round, Mumbai Indians added him at the base price.
