Ananda Abahani is the beginning of the end

Dhaka Abahani went to play the first match of the new season today with a lot of trouble, a lot of 'not getting' and disappointment. In the Premier League match, the blue-and-blues seem to have reduced the pain accumulated by defeating Fakirpool 2-0.

Abahani had never seen such a bad time in their history. Miscreants attacked the club after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5. The titles won in 52 years were also looted. After that, there was uncertainty about the formation of the team. In the end, the club could not keep any foreigner even though the team was formed. It is hard to say when Abahani last played without foreign players in their football history. However, this victory can give them the motivation to move forward again.

Abahani did not see a goal in the first half at the Shahid Barkat Stadium in Gazipur. In the second half, the attacking side of the team poured their maximum. It also brings success. Abahani scored the first goal in the 71st minute of the match. Enamul Gazi broke the opponent's defense wall with Kamrul Islam's extended ball. Then dodged the goalkeeper and put the ball in Fakirpool's net. He also won the man of the match award.

Gazi has been playing in Abahani's jersey since last year. He started with Shamsul Huda Football Academy in Jessore. From there, Dilkusha, Victoria and Arambagh clubs played for Rahmatganj for five years. Abahani, who started the Premier League with 100% local players, got full three points in the journey courtesy of this Gazi. The 23-year-old forward is happy to score the first goal of the season for Abahani, 'The satisfaction of winning the first match of the season is a little different. And it feels even better to score in that match.'

Zafar Iqbal entered the score sheet with Enamul. The goal came from a penalty in added minutes of the match. This forward, who made his debut in the Bangladesh national team in 2016, entered the field for the first time for Abahani. He played most of the time for Mohammedan in his 9-year club career.

In another match of the day, Munshiganj's Bir Shrestha Flight Lieut. Rahmatganj beat Fortis FC 3-1 at Matiur Rahman Stadium. The first half was scoreless in this match as well. Fortis conceded three goals in a short period of time in the second half. On the contrary, Old Dhaka club Rahmatganj left the field with victory as they could not repay more than one goal.
