Former cricketer Ajay Jadeja has been declared the next Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, now known as Jamnagar. It is an Indian princely state located in the historical Halar region on the southern coast of the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat. Maharaja Jam Saheb of Nawanagar confirmed this in a statement.
The Jamnagar royal family to which Ajay Jadeja belongs has a rich heritage in cricket. The prestigious Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy are named after Jadeja's relatives KS Ranjitsinhji and KS Duleepsinhji.

Revered as the 'Good Maharaja', he is remembered for his extraordinary humanitarian efforts during World War II.
Jadeja's father Daulatsinhji Jadeja was a three-time MP from Jamnagar Lok Sabha. His mother is a native of Alappuzha, Kerala. Jadeja is married to Jaya Jaitley's daughter Aditi Jaitley and has two children, Aiman ​​and Amira.
