After scoring 150 runs in the first innings, India bowled out the Kangaroo team for just 104 runs in the first innings, whereas in the second innings they declared the innings at 487 runs and set a huge target of 534 runs. In the second innings, the entire Australian team was all out for 238 runs.

After the end of the match, Australian fast bowler Jose Hazlewood raised questions on his team's batting. He had clearly stated that there was no dearth in bowling but you should ask him only what plan the batsmen made against India. Now before the second test he has been ruled out as injured.
