New Delhi. In the Border Gavaskar Trophy against India, host Australia suffered a shameful defeat due to poor batting. The first match of the 5-match Test series was played in Perth. After scoring 150 runs in the first innings, India bowled out the Kangaroo team for just 104 runs in the first innings, whereas in the second innings they declared the innings at 487 runs and set a huge target of 534 runs. In the second innings, the entire Australian team was all out for 238 runs.
After the end of the match, Australian fast bowler Jose Hazlewood raised questions on his team's batting. He had clearly stated that there was no dearth in bowling but you should ask him only what plan the batsmen made against India. Now before the second test he has been ruled out as injured. In such a situation, speculations are being made that Hazlewood is not injured but he has been removed because of raising questions on his batting.
Team India had set a target of 534 runs to win. After the match was over, Australian bowler Josh Hazlewood asked the media to ask his batsmen what strategy they made for the second innings. After this, rumors of rift between batsmen and bowlers spread. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey dismissed such rumours.
Alex Carey said before the second match, “If you ask the batsmen, we all want to perform better. As a cricketer you go there to score a century. If you don't do this, I think you get disappointed at times. But our team is united. We all get a chance to bat and we are all eager to make big scores. I am confident that our players will be successful in doing this.
