Tata Motors has filed 250 patents and 148 design applications in the last financial year 2025. According to the company’s statement, this is the largest number filed so far on an annual basis. The filed applications cover a wide range of areas of production and process manufacturing, with a focus on electric vehicles (EVs), hydrogen-based technologies and key vehicle systems such as batteries, powertrains, suspensions, brakes, HVAC and emissions controls.
Apart from this, the company also filed 81 copyright applications and obtained 68 patent grants during the year. This increased his total number of approved patents to 918. Tata Motors said the filed application is in line with the current trends in the automotive sector such as connectivity, electrification, sustainability and safety. Applications include developments related to hydrogen fuel batteries and other alternative propulsion systems.
