India's two largest IT service providers have said that they will maintain thousands of appointments from engineering colleges this year, even though revenue growth in sluggish large economic environment may remain weak.
Infosys said on Thursday that it would provide jobs to 20,000 new engineering graduates this year. At the same time, TCS has also said to appoint 42,000 in the whole year. The total number of Infosys personnel in the whole year increased by 6,338 to 31 March to 323,578.
At the same time, TCS made 6,433 appointments during the year and Wipro employed 732 people. Infosys has said that the increment for its employees will be effective from April. BS
