to report Tasnim News Agencywar commentary group Tasnim News Agency (Day 8 – Report No. 47): Missiles such as Khyber Shakhan and Fatah, which are used in these recent operations, mainly have a range of about 1400 to 1450 kilometers. Of course, a version of Khyber Shakhan – which is called Khyber Shakhan 2 – has a range of up to 1800 km, but the images that have been published so far mostly refer to the same common models.
These missiles are also capable of firing towards the occupied territories from the western regions of the country. In this context, Israel and America have made extensive efforts to target Iran’s missile bases in the west of the country and disable them. However, the continued firing of rockets towards the occupied territories shows that these efforts have not achieved the desired results and have not been fully successful in this regard.
On the other hand, it seems that a new generation of Emad missiles has also been used in operations. In the images released from the 25th wave of the “Honest Promise” operation, signs of using the updated version of this missile can be seen. After the operation “Wadeh Sadeq 1”, the Ministry of Defense made an important upgrade on the Emad missiles and introduced its new version under the name “Etemad”.
This update is mainly in the missile warhead section. In the past, the Emad missile warhead was single-cone, although it was guided and could be separated from the missile body. But in the new version, the Etamad missile, while the range and many of the general characteristics have been preserved, a three-cone warhead with guided warheads has been used.
Such a design reduces the radar cross-section of the warhead, and as a result, it becomes more difficult to intercept it by defense systems. It seems that this is the same feature used in the new version of the rocket.
In general, the use of these types of missiles shows that what was previously announced by the armed forces – that a new generation of missiles will enter the field in the coming days – is now being realized.
