Ratan Naval Tata (86), former chairman of Tata Sons, has given a statement after the news of his hospitalization. He said- I am fine and due to my old age, I had gone to the hospital for routine checkup. There is nothing to worry about.
Earlier, some media reports had claimed that Ratan Tata is admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Breach Candy Hospital. He was brought to the hospital on Monday. His blood pressure had reduced considerably.
Ratan Tata was the chairman of the group from 1990 to 2012.
Born on 28 December 1937, Ratan Tata is the great-grandson of Tata Group founder Jamsetji Tata. He was chairman of the group from 1990 to 2012 and interim chairman from October 2016 to February 2017. Ratan remains the head of the Tata Group's charitable trusts.
Ratan Tata has taken his legacy to a new level. He included Air India in his empire. Foreign company Ford also added luxury car brands Landrover and Jaguar to its portfolio.
