In FY 2025, less than 5 percent of private corporate sector enterprises have expressed their intention to allocate their capital expenditure (CAPEX) for diversification and green techniques. Of the private corporate sector enterprises, only 1.38 percent intended to use their capital expenditure for energy change. On the other hand, only 2.75 percent private enterprises have expressed their intention of capital expenditure on diversification.
NSO data shows that private corporate sector enterprises have not allocated capital expenditure in 10 of the 17 activity categories for energy change and conservation. This shows the indifference of the Indian industry towards green and future -faced techniques.
Statistics also show that the industries that desire for energy changes and conservation are the top manufacturing (4.36 percent) category industries. This is followed by water supply, drainage, waste management and improvement activities (0.96 percent) and electricity, gas, steam, air conditioning supply (0.76 percent).
On the other hand, enterprises wishing to allocate their capital expenditure for diversification were the highest in the category ‘Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ (17.31 percent), followed by ‘administrative and assistant service activities’ (5.3 percent) and ‘education’ (14.11 percent).
