Essar Group co-founder Shashi Ruia passed away on November 25, 2024. He was 80 years old. Shashi Ruia's mortal remains will be kept at Ruia House on November 26 from 1 pm to 3 pm. The last procession will leave from Ruia House at 4 pm for Hindu Worli crematorium.
Shashi, a first generation entrepreneur, started her career in 1965 under the guidance of her father Nand Kishore Ruia. In 1969, Shashi's brother Ravi Ruia founded Essar Group. The company began its operations with the construction of an outer breakwater at Chennai Port.
