Arab Finance: In a move that reflects the depth of strategic relations between Egypt and Iraq in the energy sector, the activities of the first session of the Iraq Exhibition for Oil and Gas TechnologyOujatik 2025“An important meeting was held between Modern Gas and Petromin and the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the exhibition, which enjoys high -level Egyptian participation as a guest of honor of the session, and the discussions dealt with the prospects for the participation of Modern Gas Company in projects to connect natural gas networks to power plants, brick factories and cement in Iraq.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of delivering liquefied gas to residential areas, towers and hotels, which contributes to the optimal exploitation of the large quantities available from liquefied gas.
These discussions come within the framework of the ambitious expansion plan adopted by the Iraqi government to establish housing complexes aimed at building one million housing units, and the application of the LNG system and its central stations, which includes the stages of design, installation, operation and maintenance.
Besides, the attendees reviewed ways of cooperation in vital areas aimed at stopping the burning of accompanying gases and re -exploiting them (Flared Gas Recovery), because of the many benefits that this carries in the environment protection and reduce carbon emissions, in addition to enhancing production by reusing available resources.
Discussions also extended to include specialized studies with the modernization, reuse and employment of current and future assets to ensure the highest levels of performance and efficiency, in addition to the studies of industrial water treatment and water produced, adapted and reuse in proportion to the nature and conditions of each site.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian petroleum sector is the guest of honor of the current session of the “Owaitik 2025” exhibition, which is held under the auspices of the President of the Council of Ministers of Iraq, Engineer Muhammad Shi'a Al -Sudani, during the period from 1 to 4 June 2025, under the supervision of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, and with the wide participation of 66 companies specialized in the fields of oil, gas and energy from all over the world.
