Arab Finance – Petroleum will start providing diesel fuel to cement factories tomorrow through central distribution

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the Ministry of Petroleum will begin providing diesel crude to cement factories through the central distribution of diesel to factories, through the Technical Secretariat of the Ministerial Group, Economy Plus reported.

This was revealed by Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, while chairing the seventh meeting of the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development, today, Monday.

The demands of the Cement Division of the Building Materials Industry Chamber of the Federation of Industries included the necessity of providing the required quantities of raw diesel oil to operate building materials factories with their full production capacity.

The Authority is scheduled to inventory the needs of factories operating in the building materials sector to provide them to the Ministry of Petroleum.

The Minister stressed the importance of using alternative fuels to diesel in the cement industry.

Cement factories are preparing a working paper for the Ministry of Industry, which includes the prices of mining materials in quarries during the past three years, their rates of increase and the impact of this increase on the industry, as the Minister of Industry directed cement producers.

Cement demands also included regular disbursement of export support payments, extending the period of investors’ right to benefit from mining materials in quarries, and conducting tests for pozzolanic cement to verify its conformity with standard specifications and determine its use in light of the results of the tests.

“There is a committee responsible for reviewing the export support program, and the program is currently being restructured and the sectors that will have priority in obtaining export support are being determined according to a number of criteria that include the percentage of the local component of the product and the technology used in production,” according to the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development.

He said that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi approved the disbursement of export support worth 20 billion pounds during the current year.

The meeting reviewed the future vision for the localization of the solar energy cell industry, and proposals for the sustainability of this industry in Egypt, especially in light of the state’s keenness to increase the local component in this industry.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development directed the formation of a technical committee that includes the Ministries of Military Production and Electricity, the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Center for Industrial Modernization, to study the possibilities of manufacturing various solar energy equipment, especially photovoltaic cells.

The problem of the high cost of measuring the installation of natural gas for factories is one of the challenges facing the industrial zones in Sohag and Qena governorates.

The Minister stressed the need to re-examine this cost for various factories, and work to reduce it to reduce the burden on them in various governorates.
