Arab Finance: Muhammad Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the capital, held yesterday, Tuesday, a meeting with Mohamed Amer, CEO of the Middle East and Africa region of the company ”Skatak “Norwegian The pioneer in the field of new and renewable energy, to discuss the latest developments for the joint project between the Egyptian Aluminum Company of the Ministry and the company “Skatak” to establish a solar power plant with a capacity of 1 GB to provide clean energy for the aluminum complex in Nag Hammadi, whose investment volume is about 750 million dollars and is implemented in two phases Each of them is 500 megawatts.
Engineer Mohamed Shimi stressed that the solar power plant project comes within the framework of implementing a comprehensive and ambitious development plan for Egypt Aluminum Company, increasing production capacities and introducing new products, and the ministry’s keenness in light of Egypt's 2030 vision for sustainable development and the transformation into the green economy and the expansion of renewable and clean energy projects and enhancing their uses, And keeping pace with the global trend towards environmental sustainability, as well as supporting the consensus of subsidiaries with global manufacturing standards, sustainability and a clean environment, and that Egypt Aluminum Company can continue to export and expand in foreign markets, as it exports more than 50% of its production abroad mostly to the European Union countries .
