Arab Finance – Al Dhahirah and Mobco launched the first fertilizer river charging to support agricultural projects

Arab Finance: The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and the Agricultural Phenomenon Company announced the success of the first river shipping process for 750 tons of packed urea fertilizer, in cooperation with Egypt Fertilizer Production Company (Mobco).

The shipment of fertilizers from Damietta Port was launched using the River Unit “Nile 5”, which is affiliated with the National River Transport Company, heading to the Al -Awab region in Aswan and from there to the Toshka region.

This initiative comes within the framework of the Ministry of Transport’s plan to activate the multiple transportation and enhance dependence on the Nile River as a safe, effective and low -cost means for transporting goods, as it aims to support farmers and meet the needs of the local market.

This achievement, in cooperation with the Damietta Port Authority, is a successful model for supporting major national projects, such as the Toshka project, in which the Agricultural Phenomenon Company contributes to huge investments, as it owns about 37 thousand acres in addition to other farms in the east of Al -Owainat.

For his part, Raouf Tawfiq, CEO of the Agricultural Phenomenon Company, said: “We are proud to be part of this integrated model that combines industry, agriculture, and logistical services. We highly appreciate the efforts of the Ministries of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Transport in supporting this cooperation.”

It should be noted that this step falls within the strategy of “Mobco” to expand the scope of distribution of its products throughout the Republic, and to encourage free trading to support the local market. The company also seeks to enhance dependence on environmentally friendly and economically friendly river transport. The company also affirmed its commitment to support agricultural development in Upper Egypt, and to facilitate fertilizers’ access to farmers quickly and high efficiency to achieve food security.
