Vinita Nanda Slams Imtiaz Ali: Veteran film director Imtiaz Ali recently talked about casting couch in Bollywood. She had given a statement at IFFI Goa that women are very safe in the Hindi film industry. Now film maker Vineeta Nanda is furious over his claim. He has advised the director to refrain from making such statements about which he is not aware.
Vineeta Nanda has posted a post on her Instagram account. In this he has clearly said that there is casting couch in the film industry and Imtiaz Ali's claim is wrong. He wrote- 'Imtiaz Ali should stop giving statements on what women have to face in the entertainment industry. Naturally, Kareena Kapoor is safe because she has got special rights and she should know that casting couch exists.
'Having zero experience, he should have avoided speaking'
The film maker further wrote- 'Why has IFFI Goa chosen her to speak on behalf of women? Is this to cover up the truth? If people like him had the courtesy to refrain from speaking on a subject about which they have no experience, then one would believe that change is indeed taking place. It is shocking that Imtiaz Ali makes all kinds of statements regarding women's issues on an important industrial platform like IFFI Goa. Having zero experience, he should have avoided speaking.
Imtiaz Ali gave this statement
Let us tell you that while talking on the casting couch at IFFI Goa, Imtiaz Ali had said – Believe me, Mumbai's film industry is remarkable because of the way it treats women. This is very safe for women. I have been a director in the Hindi film industry for 15-20 years. I have heard a lot about casting couch.
Imtiaz had said that if a girl compromises, she will definitely get a role, it is not necessary. If a girl can say 'no' and respect herself, only then others will respect her.
