Paddy procurement will start in Eastern Uttar Pradesh from November 1st. Procurement has been scheduled on different dates in the districts of Lucknow division. Procurement will start from November 1 in Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Unnao of Lucknow division along with Eastern Uttar Pradesh, while paddy procurement is going on in Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur from October 1.
The minimum support price of paddy has been fixed at Rs 2300 and for paddy grade A at Rs 2320 per quintal. Farmers will be reimbursed at the rate of Rs 20 per quintal for unloading, sifting and cleaning of paddy. A total of 4000 purchasing centers of the Food Logistics Department and other purchasing agencies have been set up for the sale of paddy by farmers in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Yogi government's instructions – make payment within 48 hours
Yogi government has instructed farmers to make payment within 48 hours. Registration for the purchase of paddy was going on from September 1st by the Food and Logistics Department. The minimum support price of paddy has been fixed at Rs 2300 and for paddy grade A at Rs 2320 per quintal. A total of 4000 purchasing centers of the Food Logistics Department and other purchasing agencies have been set up for the sale of paddy by farmers in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh. Purchasing centers will operate from 9 am to 5 pm. According to the Agriculture Department, the area covered with paddy for the Kharif marketing year 2024-25 is 61.24 lakh hectares. Paddy production this year is estimated at 265.54 lakh metric tonnes. The average production is estimated at around 43.36 quintals per hectare.
Procurement will start in these districts from Tuesday
Paddy procurement will start in the districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh from November 1st. This purchase will take place in Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Devipatan, Basti, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Prayagraj divisions of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Procurement will also start in Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Unnao from Friday.
Procurement will continue till January 31 in Western Uttar Pradesh and till February 28 in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Paddy procurement, which started from October 1 in Western Uttar Pradesh, will continue till January 31, 2025. Whereas in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, paddy procurement will continue till 28 February 2025.
