UP Bypoll Election 2024: Voting for by-elections in 9 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh concluded on Wednesday with sporadic incidents. The Election Commission said that 49.3 percent of the estimated voting took place. The fate of the candidates was captured in EVMs. His fate will be decided on 23 November.
During the by-elections, there were reports of chaos and uproar from many places. SP continued to accuse BJP, police and administration officials of dishonesty. Meanwhile, on the complaint of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, the Election Commission suspended five policemen.
Where and how much voting took place?
According to the information received from the Election Commission, 57.1 percent in Mirapur, 57.7 percent in Kundarki, 33.3 percent in Ghaziabad, 46.3 percent in Khair, 54.1 percent in Karhal, 49.1 percent in Sisamau, 43.4 percent in Phulpur, 56.9 percent in Katehari and 50.4 percent in Majhwan. Percentage voting took place. To ensure fairness of voting, webcasting arrangements were made at more than 50 percent of the polling stations.
Adequate security arrangements were made to prevent any kind of irregularities in the elections. On the day of voting, complaints received from various political parties and candidates were promptly investigated and resolved.
SP made this appeal
Samajwadi Party has appealed to all the leaders and workers through social media that after the end of voting, you should monitor the EVMs till they are sealed and then till the EVMs reach the strong room.
SP further said, “After the end of voting, you people should follow the vehicle on which the EVM goes to the strong room and leave it till the strong room. Also, the party's polling agent should ask the presiding officer to collect Form 17C (Part- 1) Must obtain and make it available to the election agent.”
Congress made serious allegations
Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai in his reaction said that this government has destroyed all the systems. These are troubling people. This government is harassing those people who are voting against them.
Voting took place under tight security
According to the Commission, “For the purpose of keeping the voting process free and fair, webcasting was arranged at more than 50 percent of the polling places for effective supervision, which was supervised by the District Election Officer, Chief Electoral Officer and Election Commission of India.” Voting was done at all three levels. For security reasons, 9 general observers, 5 police observers and 9 expenditure observers were deployed.
In the elections, necessary EVMs and VVPATs were arranged for voting at all 3 thousand 718 polling places and adequate quantity of reserve EVMs and VVPATs were arranged in different districts. Wherever complaints were received during voting, they were resolved immediately.
The main competition is between these parties
In the by-election, Bharatiya Janata Party is contesting on eight seats and its ally RLD is contesting on one seat. On the other hand, Samajwadi Party is contesting on all nine seats with the support of Congress. Bahujan Samaj Party is also contesting on all the nine seats. Main contest is being considered mainly between BJP, SP and BSP.
