Hit And Run Case: A case has been registered against Congress leader's son Prajwal Shetty in a hit and run case in Udupi. One person Mohammad Hussain died in this incident. Umarabba, the 65-year-old father of the deceased, told in the complaint that on November 13, at around 5 am, Hussain was going from Belapu towards Panchalakadu on a motorcycle. During this time, a vehicle coming from Panchalakadu hit Hussain's motorcycle.
After this collision, Hussain suffered serious injuries on his head, hands and legs. He was first taken to Ajjarkad Hospital in Udupi for treatment. Seeing the situation, the doctors referred Hussain to a private hospital in Manipal for further treatment.
Driver accused of running away without helping
After the accident, the driver fled from the spot without any help, due to which Hussain fell on the road and his motorcycle was also damaged. A case has been registered in Shirva Police Station under Sections 281 and 125(B), and Section 134(A) and (B) of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act.
Jeep driver identified
Police investigation revealed that the vehicle responsible for the accident was a jeep, which was being driven by 26-year-old Prajwal Shetty. Prajwal Shetty is a resident of Belapu village and son of Deviprasad Shetty. Devi Prasad is a big Congress leader. The police have taken the accused into custody and have started legal action. Hussain, who was seriously injured in this accident, died at around 7:30 pm on 14 November. Police said that the case will be investigated expeditiously and the charge sheet will be filed in the court soon.
