Sambhal Jama Masjid Survey Case: On Sunday, protesters opposing the survey being conducted on the orders of the court in Sambhal's Jama Masjid clashed with the police and during this, three people died. 20 people including the Sub-District Magistrate and the Police Officer were also injured in the incident. Action will be taken against those accused of violence under Rasuka. Politics prevails over the matter.
According to the police, the protesters tried to burn vehicles and pelted stones at the police, following which the police fired tear gas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. “The miscreants opened fire and some shrapnel hit our policemen,” an officer said. We are investigating where the bullets were fired, especially in Deepa Sarai area.

1. Officials said that in view of the tension spread after the violence, internet services have been stopped in Sambhal tehsil and orders have been given to keep all schools up to class 12 closed on Monday. Jama Masjid was surveyed last Tuesday on the orders of a local court, after which tension spread in Sambhal for the last few days.
2. In fact, a petition has been filed in the local court claiming that at the place where Jama Masjid is situated, there was previously a Harihar temple. Moradabad divisional commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh, while talking to reporters in Sambhal, said that in this case there were two-three groups of miscreants who were continuously firing and the police administration safely evacuated the team that had come to conduct the survey.
3. He said that a group of miscreants went to Nakhasa and started pelting stones. Singh said that the police administration chased them all away. Singh said that three people aged between 20 and 25 years have died in this violence. Apart from this, Sambhal police area officer Anuj Kumar has also been hit by shrapnel. He told that in this case, 15 people including two women are being detained and interrogated. Earlier, an officer said that some people also tried to set fire to the motorcycles parked on the roadside. The official said that the accused of violence will be booked under the stringent National Security Act (NSA).
5. Officials said the survey was planned in the morning so as not to disrupt the prayers at the mosque, which usually take place in the afternoon. Meanwhile, District Basic Education Officer Alka Sharma, in an order, has given instructions to keep all schools and colleges up to class 12th in Sambhal tehsil closed on Monday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishna Kumar Vishnoi told reporters that there is peace at the spot at present and a request was made to shut down mobile internet service in Sambhal for 24 hours, which has been approved by the government. According to him, now internet services will remain closed for a day in Sambhal tehsil. He said that the call details and other details of the mobile phones of the detained people are being investigated. The SP said that an FIR has been registered at Sambhal police station and the injured policemen are giving their statement and their medical examination is also being conducted.

Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday alleged that the alleged violence over the survey of a mosque in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district was a conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the government and the administration. Congress has also made a similar allegation that it was “conceived” to divert attention from the irregularities in the by-elections.

9. On stone pelting and arson in Sambhal, state Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar said, “The situation in Sambhal is under control and we are keeping an eye on the situation. All the local police and administration officials are on the spot. Soon, anti-social elements will be identified and strict action will be taken against them.'' As part of police and administrative action on Saturday, 34 people, including the father of a Samajwadi Party MP, were banned in view of the possibility of disturbing peace. Sambhal Deputy District Magistrate (SDM) Vandana Mishra said that 34 people including Mamlukur Rahman Burke, father of Sambhal SP MP Zia ur Rehman Burke, have been banned.
