Mumbai Police arrested Sukha: The sharp shooter Sukha of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who opened fire outside the house of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in Mumbai a few months ago, has been arrested by the team of Mumbai and Haryana Police. The arrest took place on Wednesday (October 16) night in a hotel room in Panipat, where Sukha was coaxed and taken along by a woman working with the police.
It is believed that the suspect Sukha played an important role in planning the attack on Salman Khan earlier this year. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang is being investigated for conspiring to murder Khan using weapons smuggled from Pakistan.
Planning to catch Sukha was going on for three months
According to news agency PTI, Sukha, who was closely associated with the gang, was in contact with a Pakistan-based handler named Dogar. For three months, police were planning to capture Sukha, who had escaped from law enforcement after the attack on Khan's house in Bandra.
How did the woman invite Sukha to the hotel room?
Hindi newspaper 'Dainik Jagran' reported that a girl working undercover was assigned the task of befriending him and seducing him. Then with time there were frequent conversations between the two, due to which this operation helped a lot. On Wednesday, the woman contacted Sukha and told that she was staying at Abhinandan Hotel in Panipat. During the call the woman told that she was very drunk. The woman told Sukha, “I am somewhere in Panipat, but I don't know where. I am in Abhinandan Hotel. I am sending you the location, come here.”
Mumbai Police was staying in the upper room of the hotel
Initially suspicious, Sukha asked the woman if she was doing all this to arrest him. However, the woman assured him that nothing of the sort was going to happen, following which Sukha agreed to meet her, unaware that the Mumbai Police was in the room upstairs preparing to arrest him. When Sukha drank alcohol in the hotel room, Mumbai Police officials raided there and caught Sukha.
Sukha's arrest is a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the conspiracy to murder Salman Khan by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Before the arrest, Navi Mumbai Police in June had arrested five other Bishnoi gang members – Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap alias Nahvi, Gaurav Bhatia, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna, Rizwan Khan alias Javed and Deepak Hawa Singh alias John was detained, who was accused of spying on Khan's house and Panvel farm house. Salman Khan had also told the police that he believed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang opened fire at his house with the intention of killing him and his family members.
