Rahul Gandhi also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Wayanad seat and registered a historic victory. He defeated his nearest rival, PP Suneer of CPI(M) by a huge margin of 4,31,770 votes. This margin was one of the largest victory margins in Indian electoral history. Rahul Gandhi got about 7,06,367 votes. Whereas, PP Sunir got about 2,74,597 votes. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold this seat for the first time in the 2024 Wayanad by-election. Lok Sabha elections Is maintaining a great lead.
