Iranian Nationals Arrested in Porbandar: Major action has been taken against drug smugglers on Saturday (16 November) in Porbandar, Gujarat. Eight Iranian nationals have been arrested with 700 kg of banned drugs in a joint operation of Gujarat ATS, Navy and NCB. All the captured Iranian citizens have been sent to police custody for 4 days.

The price of drugs can be up to Rs 3,500 crore
According to the PTI report, while giving information, NCB officials said that the value of the seized drug 'methamphetamine' could be between Rs 2,500-3,500 crore in the international market. NCB said in a statement that an operation named 'Sagar Manthan-4' was launched based on intelligence information to stop unregistered ships carrying drugs and entering Indian waters.
Action after identification of suspicious ship
The statement said that the suspicious ship was identified and the Navy stopped it on Friday and seized the drugs. NCB said, “A large consignment of about 700 kg of methamphetamine has been seized in Indian waters. During this operation, eight foreign nationals who claimed to be Iranians were arrested.
NCB said that eight people do not have any identity documents. A Navy spokesperson said in New Delhi that the Indian Navy along with the NCB and Gujarat Police intercepted the suspicious ship in a 'coordinated operation', which led to the seizure of drugs.
