Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while wishing the people of the state on the Foundation Day of Uttarakhand, said that in the era of double engine government, a great yagya of development is going on in Uttarakhand. Praising the Dhami government of the state, he also made 9 appeals to the people of the state and the tourists visiting here for the all-round development of the state.
While virtually addressing the Police Rathik Parade organized at Police Lines on Saturday, Prime Minister Modi said that the Silver Jubilee year of Uttarakhand is starting from today, now we have to start the journey of the next 25 years for the bright future of Uttarakhand. PM Modi's 9 appeals to the people and tourists of Uttarakhand
PM Modi said that today is 9th November, the number 9 is considered auspicious, it is a symbol of power. Therefore, today he wants to make 5 requests to the people of Uttarakhand and 4 requests to the tourists coming here i.e. a total of 9.
01 – Preservation of spoken language
Prime Minister Modi said that all your dialects including Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari are very rich, their conservation is very important. Therefore, the people of Uttarakhand must teach their dialect to the coming generations, this is also important for the identity of Uttarakhand.
02 – A tree in the name of mother
He said, the whole country knows that the people of Uttarakhand are lovers of nature and environment. Uttarakhand is the land of Gaura Devi, every woman here is the form of Mother Nanda. Therefore it is very important that we protect nature. For this, plant a tree in the name of mother, this is also very important to fight climate change.
03 – Clean water
PM appealed, there is a tradition of worshiping Nalon-Dhar in Uttarakhand. Therefore, all of you will try to speed up all the campaigns of water cleanliness while preserving your streams and rivers.
04 – Connection with village
He said that the people of Uttarakhand should remain connected to their roots while visiting their villages. Especially after retirement, spend time in the village, this will strengthen your relations with the villages.
05 – Beautify the wooden houses
The Prime Minister said that the people of Uttarakhand should also come forward to save and preserve the old Tibari Dhars in their villages. By converting old houses into home stays, you can create a source of income.
06 – Avoid single use plastic
While appealing to the tourists, PM Modi said that whenever you go to the lap of Himalayas as a tourist, keep cleanliness on top and go with the thought that single use plastic should not be used in the mountains.
07 – Vocal for Local
He said, while traveling in the mountains, remember Vocal for Local, spend at least five percent of your trip buying local products.
08 – Follow traffic rules
The PM said, whenever you go to the mountains, follow the traffic rules there, be careful, everyone's life is priceless.
09- Follow the dignity of pilgrimages
The PM said, follow the local customs and rules and regulations at religious places and keep in mind the decorum there. People of Uttarakhand can take help in this regard.

PM Modi said that just two days ago, the Overseas Uttarakhand Conference was successfully organized, he has full confidence that our overseas Uttarakhand residents will continue to play such a big role in the development journey of the state. He said that the people of Uttarakhand had to make efforts for a long time to get a separate state as per their hopes and aspirations, these efforts were completed when the government was formed at the Center under the leadership of revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is a matter of great happiness that now we all are able to see Uttarakhand realizing its dreams.
PM said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has given a lot of love and affection, we too are leaving no stone unturned to serve Devbhoomi with the same feeling. The Prime Minister said that a few years ago, sitting at the feet of Baba Kedar, he had expressed his belief that this decade was going to be the decade of Uttarakhand, and Uttarakhand has proved his belief right. The double engine government has gifted the satellite center of AIIMS to Uttarakhand, the country's first drone application research center, and there is also a plan to build a smart industrial township in USnagar. The Prime Minister said that today Central Government projects worth two lakh crores are going on in Uttarakhand, connectivity schemes are being completed at a fast pace. Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project is set to be completed by 2026. 11 stations of the state are being developed as AMRUT. With the construction of Dehradun-Delhi Expressway, the journey from Dehradun to Delhi will be done in two and a half hours.
'Mahayagya of development going on in Uttarakhand'
The PM stressed that at present, in a way, a Mahayagya of development is going on in Uttarakhand, due to which migration is being stopped. The government is busy preserving the heritage along with development. A grand and divine reconstruction of Kedarnath Dham is being done, the work of Badrinath Master Plan is going on at a fast pace. Similarly, under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, 16 mythological temples are being developed in the first phase. Chardham Yatra is being facilitated through all-weather road, religious and tourist places under the mountain range are being connected by ropeway.

Record increase in the number of tourism and devotees
