Plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Vikash Yadav moved plea in Delhi court requesting to grant him exemption from attending his case hearing.

Plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun: Nearly a month after the US Department of Justice (DOJ) filed charges against him in connection with the alleged conspiracy to murder pro-Khalistan separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, Vikas Yadav has filed an application in a Delhi court. In this he has requested to be exempted from attending the hearing of his case.

Vikas Yadav has said in this application that his life is in danger, hence he cannot appear now. The court granted him immunity on Saturday and asked him to appear on February 3. Let us tell you that on October 18, the New York office of FBI had put him in its wanted list. At the same time, the Ministry of External Affairs has once again reiterated that Vikas Yadav is not an employee of the Government of India.

This argument was given with evidence in the court

In a two-page application filed by his lawyer RK Handu, Yadav has claimed that Delhi Police has registered a false case against him. He further claimed that his life is in danger as his photographs, home address and details of his whereabouts are in the public domain. In support of his claim, he has also attached a news report showing his photograph. He has claimed that due to danger, he cannot attend the hearing of the case even through video conferencing as there is a possibility that his location could be tracked.

The lawyer said- the court accepted the application, relief

On Saturday, Yadav's application was listed before a Delhi court and the court accepted his request, but asked him to appear for the next hearing on February 3, 2025. Speaking to Indian Express, Vikas Yadav's lawyer Handu said, “His life is in danger and we have applied for exemption from court hearing. The court has accepted his request and granted him immunity.”

America had made Vikas an accused in November 2023

In fact, in the documents of the US Department of Justice (DOJ) in November 2023, he was described as “CC-1” (co-conspirator). Less than three weeks later, on December 18, 2023, the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested Yadav in a kidnapping and extortion case. He was imprisoned in Tihar jail for four months. He was released on bail in April this year.
