Haryana News: A plan to connect Old Gurugram Metro to the railway station is under consideration. Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has made changes in the old DPR. In an important meeting held last week, approval was given to connect the railway station with Old Gurugram Metro. Now to start the construction work, the tender process of new DPR will be done rapidly. On the lines of the proposed Skywalk Airport, it has been kept for the movement of passengers.
According to the DPR approved by the Central Government, a metro station is proposed in Sector-5. A skywalk (FOB) was to be constructed from this station to the railway station on the lines of the airport. At present people travel to the railway station by autos and CT buses. More than 10 autos and 50 buses ply every day. On an average, lakhs of passengers travel through Gurugram railway station every month.
Connectivity of metro and railway station will be better
Till now auto rickshaws and city buses are the main means of reaching the railway station. But with the connectivity of metro and railway stations, about five lakh passengers will benefit every day. Prime Minister in February this year Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of the Old City Metro Project. The plan of the project was prepared in 2017. GMRL will bear 50 percent of the expenditure on this and the Central Government will bear 50 percent. The 28.8 km long route will be connected to the Rapid on the highway near Cyber ​​City from Old City via Udyog Vihar. 27 elevated metro stations will be built on this route. Old Gurugram Metro Project will cost around Rs 5452 crore.

Under Old Gurugram Metro Route, Sector-45, Cyber ​​Park, Sector-47, Subhash Chowk, Sector-48, Sector-72A, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector-10, Sector-37C, Basai, Sector- 101, Sector-9, Sector-7, Sector-4, Sector-5, Ashok Vihar, Sector-3, Bajgheda Road, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector-23A, Sector-22, Udyog Vihar Phase 4, Udyog Vihar Phase five, stations will be built in Cyber ​​City.
