The National People's Party has held the Bharatiya Janata Party government responsible for the long-running unrest in the state.

BJP government in the state will not be affected

At present, there is not going to be any significant impact on the BJP led government in Manipur even after taking the support of NPP, because BJP has 32 seats in the state with 60 assembly seats. In this way, BJP can run the government in the state without any support, because for majority, BJP does not need support from anyone. Talking about other parties, Naga People's Front has five seats, NPP seven, Janata Dal (U) six, independent candidates three, Congress has five seats and KPA has two seats in the assembly.
