The distribution of seats in the ruling alliance Mahayuti in Maharashtra is almost complete. This information has come to light in media reports after off-record conversations with various leaders. According to sources, according to the agreement reached on seat sharing in the Mahayuti alliance, BJP can contest elections on 158 out of 288 assembly seats in the state. However, the alliance or any leader has not yet announced this officially.
This consensus was reached regarding CM face
According to media reports, Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena may get 70 seats under the distribution and Ajit Pawar's NCP has been offered 50 seats. Right now it has been decided not to announce the CM face in the alliance and only Eknath Shinde will be the face till the elections. According to media reports, this formula has been decided in the meeting held in Delhi. Apart from Maharashtra Core Group, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party chief JP Nadda also attended this meeting.
Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and party's national general secretary Vinod Tawde were also present in this meeting. According to media reports, under seat sharing, Shiv Sena had claimed 90 seats and NCP had claimed 70 seats, but there was internal resistance in BJP regarding this. At the same time, the opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi is still discussing the seat sharing and the final consensus has not been reached between them yet. There is a tussle going on in Mahavikas Aghadi especially regarding some seats of Mumbai and Nagpur.
