Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024: Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde Faction's MP Milind Deora has challenged Shiv Sena-UBT MLA and his rival from Worli seat Aditya Thackeray to an open debate. Milind Deora has challenged Aditya when he alleged that the debate between two candidates in South Mumbai was canceled by the police.
Milind Deora has invited Aditya for debate through 'X'. Milind wrote, “Aditya, because you think that those who are afraid of open debate with their opponent are not worthy of being in a public forum, I invite you to have an open debate on the future of Worli, Mumbai and Maharashtra.” . Let's talk about the impact of 30 years of BMC's misgovernance, the delay in Mumbai Metro, the Mahalaxmi Race Course and the Sachin Waje scandal on the economy of Maharashtra. The people of Worli have to decide whether speed breaker politics or progress without speed limits is the best way to move our city and state forward.
Aaditya,
Considering you think “someone who is scared of an open debate with rival candidates is not worthy of being in any public forum”, I invite you to have an open debate about the future of Worli, Mumbai & Maharashtra.
Let's also talk about @mybmc's 30-year misgovernance,… https://t.co/Rcvvg6H7cr— Milind Deora Milind Deora ☮️ (@milinddeora) November 13, 2024
Aditya had accused of getting the debate canceled
Aditya had posted on 'X' a day earlier. In it he wrote, “There were two occasions between yesterday and today when the public would have watched the debate between the leaders of South Mumbai and asked questions, but it was cancelled. It was canceled by the police at the last moment. It was stopped on the pretext of fear of clash among workers of political parties and permission for timing.
Accusing the police, he said that their job is not to stop the debate but to stop unpleasant incidents. South Mumbai MP Arvind Sawant ji was ready for debate and is still ready for debate. Guess who is using the agency to cancel such debates.
