Those close to him on whom Sharad Pawar had expressed confidence in the 2024 assembly elections are Sharad Pawar's party's candidate Yugendra Pawar from Baramati, Harshvardhan Patil from Indapur, Ashok Rao Saheb Pawar from Shirur, Satyasheel Sherkar from Junnar, Devdutt Nikam from Ambegaon, Prashant Jagtap from Hadapsar, Sachin Dodke from Khadakwasal. But all these candidates faced defeat.

Sharad Pawar fielded his nephew in front of Ajit Pawar

Just as Sharad Pawar had received rebellion from his nephew Ajit Pawar, on the same lines Sharad Pawar had fielded Ajit Pawar's nephew Yugendra Pawar from Baramati. But this time the uncle became stronger than the nephew. Ajit Pawar won by about one lakh votes. Along with this, Sharad Pawar's 'chacha-bhatija' bet also failed.

These close ones also got defeated

Harshvardhan Patil, another close associate of Sharad Pawar, has lost the Indapur assembly seat. He was defeated by Dattatreya Vithoba Bharne by about 19 thousand votes. Ashok Rao Saheb Pawar has faced a crushing defeat from Shirur seat, he has been defeated by NCP's Mauli Aba Khatke by 74 thousand votes. Satyasheel Sherkar also lost his seat from Junnar. He was defeated by Sharad Dada Bhimaji Sonawane by 8 thousand votes. Devdutt Nikam also lost from Ambegaon. Prashant Jagtap from Hadapsar and Sachin Dodke from Khadakwasal also lost their seats.
