Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has ordered a three-tier inquiry into the fire. The Deputy Chief Minister, who arrived on Saturday morning, said that three teams will investigate the matter.

Seven of the ten infants who were burnt in the fire that broke out in the neonatal intensive care ward (SNCU) of Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College on Friday night have been identified. These include three children from Lalitpur and two each from Jhansi and Hamirpur. Three bodies have not been identified. Six children are still missing. 16 children are undergoing treatment in the medical college. Four of these are serious. A child was discharged from the medical college. Apart from these, 22 children are admitted in other hospitals of Jhansi. Eight of these children are serious. A total of 55 children were admitted in SNCU. Here on Friday night at around quarter to 11, the oxygen concentrator caught fire due to short circuit. After this there was chaos. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak, who arrived on Saturday morning, gave instructions to help the fire victims.
