Demand to impose President's rule

BJP ally Mizoram National Front (MNF) leader Vanlalvena called for imposing President's rule as the first and most important step to stop the violence. He said that it is very important to impose President's rule. During this, the Center should thoroughly study the situation and demarcate the land occupied by the Meitei and tribal communities. Let us tell you that till now more than 250 people have lost their lives in the caste violence that started in Manipur from May 2023.

Emphasis laid on formation of separate administrative units

Rajya Sabha MP Vanlalvena stressed on the formation of separate administrative units for the two communities as another step to stop the violence. He said the two communities should be run under separate administrative units because of the vast differences between their land and lifestyle. He said the hill tribes can no longer go to the valley and the Meiteis do not want to go to the hilly areas. New administrative units should be created between the two communities so that a permanent solution can be possible and the conflict can end.

Violence is now out of the control of the state government

The Mizoram National Front leader further accused the Manipur government of being biased and said that caste violence in Manipur has now gone out of the control of the state government and the police. He believes that the situation will improve only with President's rule, but at the same time, separate administration is necessary for both the communities.

BJP unable to remove CM Biren

Along with this, Vanlalvena also said that the BJP government is unable to remove Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh because it wants to save the image of its party. He further alleged that if the Center had imposed President's rule earlier, the violence could have been stopped but the BJP could not do so to save its image.
