Before Diwali, the climate of the capital has become poisonous. People are experiencing difficulty in breathing and burning sensation in the eyes. Due to changing direction of winds and reduced speed, a blanket of smog was seen in the sky. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 356 on Sunday, which is very poor. This is 101 index higher than Saturday. On the other hand, CPCB has predicted that the same situation may continue for two days from Monday. Also, the wind is expected to reach severe category from Wednesday. Meteorologists say that the share of smoke from firecrackers and stubble in the air will increase. This will worsen the air quality.
