Delhi Latest News: Delhi Government has approved the construction of a state-of-the-art ground plus five-storey integrated building at Seva Kutir Complex located at Kingsway Camp. This new building with a plinth area of 2,060 square meters will be constructed in a complex of 12,215 square meters. This modern facility aims to provide a safe, healthy and friendly complex for children.
Delhi Women and Child Development Minister Kailash Gehlot said, “The construction of this multi-storey building reflects our commitment to provide the best care to children. The new facility will ensure that every child gets a better opportunity for protection and rehabilitation. Which they deserve.
He said that this is a proof of the unwavering dedication of the Delhi government towards the welfare of needy children.
In fact, Seva Kutir Complex, managed by the Women and Child Development Department, has been taking care of children in need of services and protection for a long time. Presently there is Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Hospital and Rehabilitation Center and Observation Home for Boys (OHB).
The existing building has deteriorated significantly over the last few years. The facilities available here are very less as per the needs.
Moreover, the need for redevelopment increased even more after the floods of July 2023. In this flood, sewage water filled the premises, causing serious damage to the existing building. Considering the dilapidated condition of the building, it was considered necessary to reconstruct it.
Now Kutir Seva Complex will be equipped with modern facilities
- This ground + 5 floor service cottage complex is purpose-designed to provide integrated and comprehensive services under one roof.
- The basement and stilt floor of the Seva Kutir complex will have parking facilities, security control classroom, fire control system and housekeeping room.
- The upper ground floor will house judicial services, which will include 2 Juvenile Justice Boards, boardroom, vulnerable witness room and legal aid clinic etc.
- There will be a 73-bed hospital and rehabilitation center on the first floor. This hospital and rehabilitation center will also have a mini operating theatre, emergency room and consultation centre. Dining and entertainment areas, classrooms, a multi-purpose hall and a library will be built on the second floor.
- Two units of observation home for boys, with a total of 100 beds, will be built on the third and fourth floors, with consultation rooms, security rooms, welfare officers and health care facilities.
- The redevelopment of Seva Kutir complex is in accordance with Mission Vatsalya Yojana, Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Juvenile Justice Model Rules 2016.
