Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has declared a holiday in the capital on Tuesday (25 November). A public holiday has been declared on Tuesday to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of the ninth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Tegh Bahadur. Earlier, the government had declared a limited holiday on November 25, but on Sunday it declared a public holiday for all the offices of Delhi government.
According to an official statement, the day will provide an opportunity to the citizens to remember the unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Teg Bahadur, his divine wisdom and his unique contribution in protecting religion, human dignity and freedom of conscience and pay heartfelt tribute to him.
Three day program being held in Red Fort
A three-day grand gathering is being organized from 23rd to 25th November on the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji at the Red Fort in Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and many ministers participated in this conference.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the life and martyrdom of Guru is an eternal symbol of resistance against tyranny and injustice. He said that Guru Sahib was not only the revered ninth Guru of the Sikh sect, but also the savior of humanity. The CM also said that he was a divine personality who adopted the path of martyrdom to uphold the right of every person to practice his religion without any fear.
He wrote that Delhi is a living witness of this immortal heritage. The sacred Sisganj Sahib Gurudwara at Chandni Chowk constantly reminds us that true service is to protect the faith and rights of others.
