Actually, on Kartik Purnima, there is a huge crowd in many passenger trains passing through here including Mail Express due to devotees coming to Simaria Dham and Pahelja Ghat for bathing in Ganga. The biggest crowd among those who come to Muzaffarpur station to take a bath in the Ganga are women devotees from rural areas. The devotees have started reaching Muzaffarpur Junction to take a dip of faith in the river Ganga. Many people had left their homes in the afternoon to take a dip in the Ganga and its impact was most visible in trains. This sequence continued till late night.
During this time the bogies of the trains were completely packed. Now a complaint was received about molestation of women going for Sonpur fair by many ruffians, after which the Railway Police also came on alert. In-charge Railway SP Vidya Sagar has formed a team of four jawans regarding the matter, which will do patrolling in different shifts. RPF and GRP jawans have been specially deployed at Muzaffarpur station to deal with miscreants and miscreants near the platforms of trains coming from Simaria and Sonpur routes even late at night.
