The poison present in the air of UP and Delhi has created a problem for breathing. According to a study, the average age of people of UP-Delhi has decreased by about five years due to polluted air.
Air Quality Life Index has prepared a report based on the standards of the World Health Organization by studying the pollution emanating from industrial units, vehicles and other sources that are poisoning the air.
It has been said that if the particulate matter (PM 2.5) in UP comes equal to the national standard of 40, then the lifespan of the people will increase by 2.5 years. If PM level comes to WHO standard then the age will increase by six years. The age will increase by 4.3 years in Delhi and 8.9 years in NCR.
According to the report, the northern region of India with a population of more than 55 crore is the most polluted. The average Indian's lifespan is decreasing by 3.6 years due to air pollution. Whereas, there is a loss of 1.5 years due to tobacco and 8.4 months due to impure water and dirt. The cleanest air is in Ladakh, Andaman Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Lakshadweep.
