Ali Imam Majumdar said, the government needs revenue, it also needs a lot of subsidies. This money has to be collected from somewhere. So VAT has been increased on some products, it will not be a problem.

The impact of the notification issued by the government last Thursday increasing Value Added Tax (MUSAC) or VAT and supplementary duty on hundreds of goods and services has already hit the market; Prices of several goods and services have increased. This picture was obtained by visiting various markets and talking to ordinary buyers and traders.

Restaurant-owners are collecting additional VAT on the bill from the customer. The sector stakeholders are implementing the new price of clothing. The operators are deducting the additional cost of mobile phone calls and internet.

People from various walks of life are strongly criticizing the government's move to fulfill the conditions of the IMF loan. The first duty of the interim government is to import food from abroad, to ensure that the food reaches different parts of the country properly.

Ali Imam Majumdar said that the benefits of OMS are being considered. In the meantime, 2 tons of rice has been given to each upazila. In the food-friendly program, 50 lakh beneficiaries of the country will get 30 kg of rice at the rate of just 15 taka for the next two months.
